Pricing for my services is as follows:
All examples are based on a throw size quilt of 50” x 65”
Custom Quilting
- Basic Custom – $0.045 per sq inch
- (does not include stitch in the ditch/SID or applique quilts)
- (example 50” x 65” quilt 50 x 65 = 3250 sq in x 0.05 = $146.25)
- Advanced Custom – $0.05 up to $0.07per sq inch
- (includes stitch in the ditch/SID and applique) price is determined on on what percentage SID or applique is on the quilt.
- Show or Heirloom Custom – $0.08 up to $0.11 per sq inch.
- Price is determined on what percentage of SID or applique is on the quilt
Edge to Edge (E2E) Quilting
- Category A: 0.03 per sq inch
- (example. 50 x 65 = 3250 square inches x 0.03 would be $97.50
- Category B : 0.035 per sq inch
- (example. 50 x 65 = 3250 square inches x 0.035 would be $113.75)
Thread
Thread is included in the price per sq inch.
Batting
- 0.38 per linear inch. I use the long side of the quilt plus 10 inches (5 inches on each side of the quilt).
- (example 65 + 10 = 75 x 0.38 = $28.50 plus tax)
- Batting is not included in the above fee, and I charge by the linear inch.
- I carry Quilters Dream 80/20 white but if you want a different batting i am okay with that. Sometimes people will have batting or backing shipped directly to me.
Backing
- Backing needs to be at least 8-10 inches larger on the length and width
- (Example, if quilt is 50″x65″, must be 58×73″)
- Top and back must have threads clipped, seams secure, neatly pressed and squared.
- Please make sure that your backing does not contain selvages in the seams because the selvages don’t act the same as the rest of your quilt fabric and can cause unsightly bumps and puckers in your quilt. Selvages on the outer edges are fine to leave in place.
Binding(optional)
Binding services I offer are by hand and by machine.
- to stitch binding on by machine and finish by hand $0.40 per linear inch
- to stitch binding on and finish by machine $0.25 linear inch
- to make Double fold binding $10 flat fee
Other services
Trimming excessive loose threads $25/hour
Squaring up backing $25
Fixing too small backing $25
Piece backing for you $10/seam
Other Costs
As mentioned above, batting is NOT included in the square inch price.
Batting utilized in the quilt will be subject to sales tax
Shipping charges and insurance will be paid by the customer
Payment
After the work is complete, a invoice will be sent to you. If you are local, you will still receive a invoice, but you may pay by cash or check if you prefer.
I really do appreciate timely payments as that enables me to mail your project(s) back to you right away.
Currently I accept Cash, Check, Paypal and Venmo.
Photography
I’m not a professional photographer but I do my best to take “nice” photos of your finished quilt. Upon completion, I will text or email those images for you to use however you would like. I’d just ask that you credit me for the photo and/or quilting if posting publicly. This extra service is included in your square inch price.
