Custom Longarm Machine Quilting

Custom longarm machine quilting is a more intricate and personalized approach to quilting that focuses on enhancing specific elements of a quilt’s design. Unlike edge-to-edge quilting, which uses a continuous, repeating pattern, custom quilting involves creating unique designs for individual sections of the quilt, such as blocks, borders, sashing, or appliqué areas. This method allows for a highly detailed and tailored look, with each area carefully planned to complement the overall design of the quilt

I use a combination of techniques, including free-motion quilting or ruler work, to achieve the desired effects. Custom quilting often incorporates a mix of patterns, textures, and motifs, with the goal of highlighting key features of the quilt, such as intricate piecing or appliqué work.

My favorite part of the longarm custom quilting process coming up with the designs or motifs that will enhance the quilt’s focal elements.

I like to do a brief consultation on the phone once I receive the quilt to get an idea what your vision is for the quilt and what your likes and dislikes are regarding custom quilting. Feel free to check out the custom quilts that I have completed in the gallery.
